Mike Wells Jr. — Men's Basketball
Mike Wells Jr. had a huge second half for SV, scoring 16 of his game-high 22 points in the final 20 minutes in the 72-69 win over Davenport. He was named the Meijer "Player of the Game" for his performance, adding three assists and a rebound. It marks Wells's third 22-point game in the past four contests.
The Cardinals will return to action on Thursday (Jan. 18) night to take on Ashland University. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. in O'Neill Arena.
Rebeca Martinez— Women's Swim and Dive
Senior swimmer Rebecca Martinez recorded two first place and one second place finishes over the weekend against Wayne State. Martinez took first in the 200 IM and the 200 Yard Backstroke and missed first place in 200 Yard Butterfly by .3 seconds.
The Swim and Dive team will host their first home meet of 2018 Saturday (Jan. 20) afternoon, beginning at 2 p.m. The team will take on Hillsdale's women and Ashland's men and women squads.
